Cooking Up Community at NAU

A Taste of Who We Are

The GastroJacks are a newly founded Gastronomy Club at Northern Arizona University, exploring the intersection of food, culture, and creativity. Gastronomy is the study of how food connects people, the art of preparing delicious meals and the science behind great eating experiences. Since our founding in early 2025, we’ve grown exponentially, already partnering with other student clubs and local businesses to host a variety of cooking events.

From pasta-making workshops to catering NAU’s Casino Night, the GastroJacks have brought flavor and fun to campus through a wide range of activities. 

We strive to share our love of cooking by collaborating with fellow student organizations, experimenting with new dishes, and creating a welcoming space for students to connect over good food.

These are a collection of photos containing all of our board members and the different club fairs and school club events we have participated in.

A Recipe for Growth

As a young and growing club, we’re excited to expand our reach and opportunities. This year, we hope to:

  • Build our own collection of kitchen equipment for club use
  • Attend national culinary conferences
  • Continue hosting creative cooking events and collaborations across campus

This is a collection of several of our completed dishes from our events that showcased to the students not just cooking skills but plating as well.

Running a gastronomy club comes with unique expenses, and your support helps us keep cooking, connecting, and growing. Your donation will help fund:

  • Ingredients for our hands-on cooking events and club meetings
  • Cooking tools and appliances exclusively for club use
  • Travel costs for culinary conferences, restaurant tours, and club bonding activities
  • Other club activities or needs
