Decades of Diplomacy at NAU with Model UN!

We are Model United Nations! Model UN is a public speech and debate club where students debate real-world problems and unite to create real-world solutions. Our club has been on NAU's campus for over five decades!

We simulate various bodies in the United Nations as well as other governmental or non-governmental bodies all aimed at creating solutions to important issues, including: environmental policy, international economic infrastructure, peacekeeping, and many others.

We each represent a different country with a unique perspective and agenda, but come together to create solutions that everyone can get behind. 

Our goal is to create the leaders that our world needs today. 

Your Gift Can Make a Global Impact

Every year, we travel to at least four different cities to compete in different universities’ Model UN Conferences. There, we test our diplomatic mettle on some of the most challenging topics, improve our research and debate skills, explore the cities, and meet truly extraordinary members of other MUN chapters.

Model United Nations typically travels to four national and international conferences a year to represent Northern Arizona University and compete against universities around the globe.

This year, your support can help us send four to eight delegates to conferences at ASU, in Montreal, and in Scotland this spring. 

As you can imagine, sending students abroad is no small feat. Our conferences require us to purchase a registration fee, hotel rooms, and flights, and we try to keep costs low for members by only charging $200 per conference. 

This is to ensure that everyone, no matter what walk of life they come from, has the ability to enjoy the full Model United Nations experience. 

These conferences are an excellent chance for students to gain leadership experience, develop diplomatic abilities, and learn confident public speaking skills under pressure. Your support is crucial for us to keep creating these experiences for students and to make sure we can keep costs low enough to allow everyone to join.
