Raising Voices Through Music

Our Choir, Our Community

The Shrine of the Ages Choir is a 55-person auditioned ensemble within the Choral Union of NAU, which includes all students and faculty involved in one of our six on-campus choirs. Under the direction of Dr. Tim Westerhaus, the Shrine of Ages Choir promotes musical excellence and community through song.

This summer, we performed internationally and earned 1st and 2nd place awards at the San Juan Canta Festival in Argentina. We’re now preparing for an exciting new opportunity to perform on a national stage.

On the Road to Fullerton

The Choral Union of NAU has been invited to perform at the National Collegiate Choral Organization Conference in Fullerton, California, November 6–8, 2025.

We’ll perform Abya Yala Choral Suite: The Land in Its Fullness, featuring five Indigenous languages from Central and South America, as well as Spanish. This music blends Indigenous instruments and pan–Latin American styles, created in collaboration with composer Freddy Vilches and the Matices Latin Ensemble.

How You Can Help

This three-day trip — a seven-hour drive from Flagstaff — requires transportation and meal support for our 55 members. We aim to make participation as affordable as possible for students.

While lodging is provided, we do have a couple other needs to make this trip a reality. Your donation will help cover:

  • Fuel: Students will be carpooling in personal vehicles
  • Meals: All students are responsible for their own meals

Your Gift, Our Gratitude

By donating, you help enrich the Lumberjack student experience, advance music education, and make this transformative performance possible. Thank you for supporting our journey and helping us share the power of music and connection. Go Jacks!
