Join NAU ASME in Shaping the Future of Engineering Education

American Society of Mechanical Engineers

ASME, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers at Northern Arizona University, is a student-led professional development club dedicated to advancing mechanical engineering education and preparing students for successful future careers in the field. Through professional engineering seminars, national competitions, student-led projects, company tours, skill-building workshops, and weekly design projects, ASME provides hands-on experience and valuable networking opportunities for all of its members.

Who We Are

Our student chapter represents a broad community of engineering enthusiasts, fostering an professional environment for mechanical engineering students along with students from all engineering disciplines.

Led by dedicated officers and advisors, ASME provides members the ability to dive headfirst into various projects, meet and engage with engineering companies, step into leadership roles, and develop fundamental engineering skills, ensuring a well-rounded learning experience.

Four ASME members are building a LEGO robot to go through a challenging obstacle course during our LEGO Robot Course meeting.

Your Impact → Our Education

By supporting ASME, you help fund student-led projects that directly benefit students' professional development within the club. Whether that be helping fund our various national competition groups for 2025-2026 or our annual Escape Room project, by supporting ASME, your donations will provide our members the opportunity to grow their technical skills, gain hands-on experience with problem solving, work collaboratively in teams, design and build with machine tools, and find a community with peers.

ASME Club Projects

Our competition teams will spend the next year working together to innovate and grow their technical skills in projects such as e-Human Powered Vehicles, Sustainably Powered Robots, and 3D Printing design competitions.

Moreover, our Escape Room project, another year-long project, will provide students the opportunity for even more hands-on experience as they work together to design and build themed escape rooms from the ground up, and watch as NAU students participate in attempting to escape the rooms at the conclusion of their project. Your donations will help provide materials and other essential necessities for these projects, enabling members to participate.
