Objection Overruled: Support NAU Mock Trial!

Where Future Advocates Take the Stand

We are the Mock Trial Club at Northern Arizona University, a high-performance team of students who compete in courtroom simulations portraying attorneys and witnesses. Through intensive case analysis, public speaking, and team strategy, we learn how to think on our feet and communicate with clarity and confidence.

Mock Trial provides hands-on training in professional skills that extend far beyond the legal field: leadership, collaboration, time management, persuasive communication, and grace under pressure.

Whether we go on to pursue law school, graduate studies, or careers in business, politics, social justice, or communication, Mock Trial shapes us into stronger, more capable professionals. Two of our teams at the U of A invitational competition Cactus Classic in Fall 2024 (Tucson, AZ).

From NAU to the National Stage

As part of the American Mock Trial Association, we compete against top universities and attend invitational tournaments across Arizona and the U.S. These events allow us to:

  • Network with legal professionals
  • Represent NAU on major competitive stages
  • Build momentum toward regionals
  • Gain experience with advanced trial formats and strategy

The more we compete, the more we grow. Our goal this year is to travel farther, enter more tournaments, and elevate NAU’s presence in the courtroom space, but we need your partnership to make it happen. One of our teams with our SPAMTA award at the Open Round Championship Series competition in Los Angeles, CA in Spring 2025

How Your Support Makes an Impact

Your generosity helps cover essential expenses such as:

  • Competition entry fees and scoring materials
  • Lodging and transportation for out-of-state tournaments
  • Case exhibits, trial binders, and witness props
  • Team apparel and professional attire
  • Training resources to sharpen courtroom skills

Every dollar helps reduce financial strain on students who already balance demanding academic schedules and personal responsibilities, so they can continue competing without barriers.
