Who we are!
We are SHAC, the Student Health Advocacy Committee. Our organization actively engages with the NAU student community, listening to their health-related needs. Guided by their feedback, we organize events and offer resources to better address these requests.
What current issue are we tackling?
Right now, we’re working on a pressing issue: the lack of safe disposal options on campus for medical sharps, like lancets and needles. This affects students with diabetes, Crohn’s disease, those on HRT, and more. Without proper disposal, there is increased risk of accidental needle pricks and the spread of bloodborne pathogens.
How can you help?
We’re raising funds to purchase individual sharps disposal bins to distribute to students who need them most. With your donation, we can ensure safer options are available. Every gift, no matter the size, will make a significant impact on our campus community.
Thank you!
THANK YOU for your time and generosity—and please share our project with anyone who might want to support this cause!
