Help the Northern Arizona Entomology Club Provide Outreach to Local Schools

Hello!

We are the Northern Arizona Entomology Club, founded in the Fall of 2023 at NAU. Our aim is to spark wonder, reduce fear, and promote research of insects; all while building a community for professional and personal development. Our members focus on volunteer work, including public outreach and curation of the Northern Arizona University Arthropod Collection.

Our Reach

Thus far, our club has appeared at Science in the Park and after school education programs. This year, we have received overwhelming interest from local elementary and middle schools to educate children on the importance of insects. We believe showing students live insects is the best way to provoke imagination.

How can you help?

We are raising funds to:

  • Purchase live insects
  • Procure the necessary equipment for proper handling and housing of our specimens
  • Buy supplies to promote undergraduate hands-on volunteer work to help sort and curate the NAU Arthropod Collection
  • Put on outreach events at schools and in the community
