Our Crowdfunding Groups
NAU Global Medical Brigades Club is an international movement of university students working together to improve health conditions in the developing world.
In partnership with the community of Honduras, NAU Global Medical Brigades students are provided with an international experiential learning opportunity to develop their leadership and collaboration skills while also having an enormous impact on community health.
NAU Global Medical Brigades students gain invaluable insights into the challenges faced by underserved communities and develop a deeper understanding of global health disparities. This hands-on experience fosters empathy, cultural competence, and a commitment to sustainable solutions, empowering Lumberjack students to become compassionate leaders in the pursuit of health equity worldwide.
Lumberjacks can apply these transferrable skills across future community development projects and in a variety of global locations. Ensuring opportunities for these Jacks and the communities they chose to serve.
Our mission is to provide sustainable development to underserved communities throughout the world. Volunteers gather supplies, fundraise, and travel to Honduras to set up free medical clinics, implement public health infrastructure, and share important health and wellness information side-by-side with doctors and community members.
In 2016, two socially-minded pre-med students approached their biology teacher with a mission: to travel to Central America with the Global Brigade to provide healthcare to indigenous communities. Since then, the first NAU Global Brigade traveled to Honduras in a unique Medical Brigade, bringing a group of pre-health students to remote areas of Honduras. Our students worked alongside local doctors who knew the local culture and the language, assisting and shadowing them as they administered needed dental and medical care in a holistic approach. Yearly trips since then to Central America by our NAU Medical Brigade have included various Flagstaff healthcare providers and adjunct faculty from Biology, Dental Hygiene, and Respiratory Therapy. Each year, student club leaders recruit new members and organize fundraising activities, raising money to pay for medicine, dental supplies, and hygiene packs that they bring to the site for distribution.

Student volunteers create hygiene packs for the patients they will support in Honduras! This donation will allow our chapter to buy the necessary supplies for our patients and extend our impact beyond our campus.
Hygiene packs are necessities for the patients this chapter will support in Honduras. This donation can create one entire hygiene pack, directly helping and supporting one patient with your help and supports our understanding into the challenges faced by underserved communities and develop a deeper understanding of global health disparities.

The total cost of a Volunteer attending this trip is $2,600. This large cost covers flight, meals, housing, insurance, and ground transportation. In addition, it funds local healthcare professionals, supplies, and medication to support 300-700+ patients the volunteers will support. Lastly, the rest of the money will support year-round international staff to maximize sustainable impact! This donation emphasizes the epitome of devotion and support for our cause.
