Support the NAU Student Experience and Clean Energy Future!

The Energy Club supports NAU's culture of environmental sustainability, through providing enriching opportunities for students to help launch their careers in the renewable energy industry. Members of our club gain hand's on experience tackling some of our nation's most pressing renewable energy matters, by participating in the Collegiate Wind Competition (CWC) and Hydropower Collegiate Competition (HCC), put on by the US Department of Energy.

Collegiate Wind Competition

Students involved in CWC are tasked with:

  • Designing and manufacturing a miniature wind turbine to bring and test at competition
  • Propose a comprehensive plan and analysis for a theoretical wind farm
  • Connect with the local community and industry members to spread support of the wind industry

This year's team will be taking their final deliverables to the CLEANPOWER 2023 Conference & Exhibition in New Orleans, Louisiana. Your donations help support travel expenses and project costs associated with this competition, and help additional members experience the full benefit of this opportunity, by going to the competition in person.

2022 Collegiate Wind Competition in San Antonio, Texas

Hydropower Collegiate Competition

Students involved in HCC are tasked with:

Conducting a Case Study analysis of a regional hydropower project, and outline how the facility will operate in the year 2036, assuming that by this time, our grid will be comprised of 95% renewable sources. Additionally, they will connect with local community and industry members to foster deeper support of the hydropower industry.

This year's team will be taking their final deliverables to Water Power Week in Washington, DC. Your donations allow more members to experience the full benefits of this competition, by coming with us to the end-of-the-year conference.

Community Events

The Energy Club actively participates in community events, and works with local schools to provide energy-focus learning opportunities to the next generation of engineers. Your donations will help us purchase materials which will be used in hands-on learning activities, such as building a floating turbine foundation or small scale wind turbine.

The NAU Energy Club is extremely grateful for your donations, and vows to use all raised funds to support the club's mission of providing enriching career development opportunities for NAU students, and encourage younger generations to invest themselves in renewable energy careers.
