Community Access Programs at NAU

At NAU, your generosity helps students gain the tools, training, and support they need to thrive. When you give, you are helping Lumberjacks prepare for meaningful careers while also strengthening the communities they will go on to serve.

Looking for a way to make a real difference for NAU students and the community? You can support outcomes like these:

Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic

Graduate students in Clinical Speech-Language Pathology provide evaluation and therapy services for children and adults with communication and swallowing disorders such as stuttering, aphasia, and speech delays. Because many of these services are not covered by insurance, donations make it possible for the clinic to reduce or remove financial barriers so individuals can receive the help they need while students gain hands-on training for their future careers.

Blavin Scholars Program

Founded in 2010 by Paul and Amy Blavin, this program helps students who have aged out of foster care earn a bachelor’s degree at NAU. Comprehensive support ensures Blavin Scholars can focus on their education, build independence, and graduate ready to achieve their goals.

Early Childhood Education Center

NAU is establishing a new Early Childhood Education Center that will prepare the next generation of early childcare educators while providing high-quality childcare for the children of NAU students, faculty, and staff. The center will also serve as a hub for advancing research in early learning.

Community Access to Care – Dental Hygiene

The NAU Dental Hygiene Clinic offers affordable preventative care to the public and provides student clinicians with valuable training. Events such as the Kiddie Clinic and Smiles for Veterans deliver free exams to hundreds each year. Your support ensures these programs continue to serve families while preparing graduates for careers in healthcare.

Disability Resources

Disability Resources helps students navigate their college experience by providing services and accommodations that ensure they can fully participate in their education. These resources come at no cost to students and allow them to focus on achieving academic success.

Institute for Human Development

This statewide training and research institute prepares students to work in the field of developmental disabilities while expanding services that improve quality of life for Arizonans. With more than 20 projects in research, technical assistance, and service delivery, the institute is shaping both student learning outcomes and stronger communities.
