Hello Blavin Scholars Supporters! 

As we enter the third week of school on this VERY snowy Monday, our Jacksfunder is in the final days. In just seven days, our project will close. So far we've raised $575.00 out of $5,000 goal. These funds will continue to support our Blavin Scholars in important ways this semester including providing off-campus counseling to ensure the positive mental wellness of our scholars during these challenging times. Please continue to share our message with your network and thank you to those that have already supported our program. Your support means so much to us.

Hello Blavin Scholars Supporters! 

Thank you for your generous contributions to the Blavin Scholars Program. As of today, we are officially in the second week of the semester. Our Blavin Scholars are doing well as they adjust to their new schedules. 

As we work towards our goal of $5,000 for the Blavin Scholars Emergency Fund, we thought we'd share one unique part of the program that sets it apart from other services in the state. The Blavin Scholars Program has no age requirement to participate and benefit from services. This is unique because most programs for college-aged students require students to be in the foster care system after their 16th birthday to receive services. Our scholars are eligible to receive services no matter the time they spent in the foster care system. This allows us to serve and support more students who otherwise may not receive assistance. Knowing a student may not receive other support makes our emergency fund that much more important! If a student faces a financial hardship and does not have the resources to cover the expenses they may consider leaving college. Not only does our emergency fund help support students through financial hardship it also keeps them moving forward in their goal to achieve a post-secondary degree. That is why we are so thankful for your generous donations. We can not thank you enough for helping to keep our students at NAU and on track.

Thank you for your generous contributions to the Blavin Scholars Program. Today is an exciting day as the Spring 2021 semester begins. While most students are working remotely for the first two weeks of classes, they are already busy! While the semester has just started Blavin Scholars staff and students have begun meeting and offering support through financial aid and counseling services. We are looking forward to making the best out of the semester while working towards our goals. Thank you for your support!
