Putting the Cuffs on Cancer
In 2018, then-Chief Kelli Smith brought the Pink Patch Project to the Northern Arizona University Police Department. This nationwide initiative raises awareness about breast cancer, a cause close to the hearts of Chief Smith and several of our officers who have been personally impacted by this disease.
Every October, during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, NAUPD officers swap out their standard patches for a vibrant pink version to show solidarity in the fight against breast cancer. Alongside this symbolic change, we invite our community to join us in making a real impact.
How You Can Support
For a donation of $10 or more, you’ll receive one limited-edition 2025 NAUPD Pink Patch (while supplies last). Each year’s design is unique—making them meaningful keepsakes and collector's items.
