NAUGLOBALBRIGADES

The NAU Global Brigades Club will be going to Honduras in January 2024 to realize projects identified through community meetings and analysis. Through these conversations and surveys completed with the community of El Apintal in Honduras, 4 major project were identified.

1. Installing water pipes from the newly installed well to community members homes.

2. Building of two to three hygiene stations (bathrooms) for two to three community members with high need. Providing a space to allow for proper sanitation will help to improve the overall health of the community. Our goal is to build 2-5 hygiene stations (or more!) each year.

3. Building of two to three eco stoves for two to three community members with high need. Eco stoves help prevent black lung, and respiratory issues.

4. Sponsor 3-5 elementary school children to continue their education to 7th through 11th grade, providing more opportunities for their future.

Our goal is to raise $10,000 to support these projects.

WATER FILTRATION SYSTEM

NAU students work with public health professionals throughout the semester to develop community health action plans. Each gift of $75 ensures Jacks can purchase one water filtration system to be installed by Jacks at a family home in El Apintal.

A gift of $80 will help Jacks to build an eco-stove for a family, helping to prevent black lung and other respiratory problems.

A $500 donation will send a child to school after elementary school, completing 7-11th grade!
